The Show

It all began when Amie was in college.  A classmate of hers was volunteering for Guide Dogs of America, and was raising a sweet male black lab named Navajo that was brought to class every day.  Amie got hooked, and two years later we got Macklin who went on to graduate from Guide Dogs for the Blind.

When we received our third pup Eli, full of confidence, we embarked on a journey to make a documentary about the process of raising and training a guide dog puppy.  Alas, as most people know from watching our series, Eli provided to be far from a good candidate for such an idea, and the documentary project was scrapped when Eli was career changed.

With Ricki, we decided to give it another go with this relatively unknown thing called a 'web series" becoming more popular. Matt felt confident that we could create a cutting edge format and push the envelope with non-fiction storytelling. Matt felt that banging an episode out every week was realistic, and Amie, now having raised nine dogs, felt more comfortable about being in front of the camera, and pushing the experience that she had gained.

Growing Up Guide Pup began with Ricki in February 2010 ... and the rest is history!
